The goal of SEA GATE is to install and operate a test environment for the development of maritime GALILEO* applications as well as the trial of maritime prototype equipment in the harbour of Rostock.
The port area of Rostock offers for different types of users various scenarios. Beside a high precision navigation in critical areas like the coast, the sea channel and the waterfront area, the link between different carriers can be investigated and optimized.
Through the combination of land and sea side information together with GALILEO* navigation signals it is for the first time possible to test new maritime applications (HW and SW) in its entirety. The SEA GATE infrastructure will use the NSG 5100, in the transmit station to provide the different GALILEO* signals. |
