The Astrium Navigation Systems & Applications group has an extensive base of experience to bring to current and future GNSS Operators.
We offer engineering consultancy and support in the following fields:
- Development and improvement of operational concepts for GNSS operators
- Design & verification of operational external interfaces
- Service performance measurement, analysis and improvement
Our heritage
Astrium Navigation Systems & Applications is supporting the German Space Agency(DLR) as a part of the SpaceOPAL consortium, currently planning to take over the Galileo Operations activities
for the FOC phase of the programme in 2011. We provide technical leadership of the ISOT team with detailed expertise regarding the operational interfaces of the core ground segment.
We are responsible, supporting the European Space Agency, for all External Interface design and verification of the Galileo system since 2004.
We are also involved, with our partners DLR, DFS and NATS, in the development of improved operational concepts for the EGNOS programme via the ESA evolution programme.
Furthermore, we have been leading a study for the GNSS Supervisory Authority (GSA), consisting of
the definition of a GSA Performance Monitoring and Assessment Facility (GPMAF) for both EGNOS and Galileo.
